Terms of service

Commons is a service of United Under God. By creating an account you agree to these terms on behalf of the government you register.

Your content is yours

Everything your staff publishes belongs to your government. Public items are public by design: they appear on your site, in your public feed, and in your calendar file. You are responsible for what you publish and for meeting the laws that apply to you.

Deadlines and reminders

Agenda and records-request deadlines in Commons are reminders based on the rule we show next to each one. They are not legal advice. Your attorney decides what your law requires.

Accounts and verification

Register only a government you work for. We verify by official email domain or by a tag on your official website. We may remove an account that impersonates a government.

Billing

The first 30 days are free. After that, publishing requires a paid plan; your public site stays up. Plans renew monthly or yearly until cancelled. Invoices are due in 30 days. Yearly plans are not refunded for unused months.

Availability

We work to keep the service running at all times but do not promise it never goes down. Keep the official copies of your records where your law requires.
